Living soil, or living substrate if you prefer, is a medium where living microorganisms play a key role. They live in the soil and maintain a symbiotic relationship with plants, where both help each other survive. Microlife offers protection to plants from diseases, pests and water stress; and contributes to maintaining the health and structure of soils. Microorganisms break down organic matter in the soil and convert it into simple inorganic molecules that plants can easily metabolize. Fungi help roots better absorb nutrients and water, regulate soil pH and oxygenate the soil. In return, plants provide them with nutrients in the form of sugars and carbon, which they absorb from the atmosphere in the form of CO2.
