Hot spots are a problem especially in hot summers, because the temperature inside the grow space is stimulated by both light and the high ambient temperature. More spatially significant shades with exhaust in cooperation with a fan make it easier to immediately extract hot air away from the plants.

Cooltube reflectors with a cooling glass tube work similarly. The clear glass protects the plants from burning. It lets in light rays, but not heat. The hot air from the tube is extracted using an exhaust fan.
