The main advantage of compact fluorescent lamps is low consumption and low heat output of the light source. Energy-saving CFL lamps can be placed about 3-4 centimeters above the plants without the risk of burning them. Another advantage is the good properties of the light spectrum, which is similar to discharge lamps.

However, their light characteristics are logically weaker than those of MH or HPS discharge lamps. The luminous flux in lumens can be up to 3 times lower than that of high-pressure discharge lamps, as well as the efficiency in lm/W. Energy-saving CFL lamps are therefore more suitable for lighting smaller or undemanding plants, or plants during the growth period. CFLs can also be used for additional lighting or as an additional source to the main lighting.

Energy-saving light, almost no excess heat

Compact energy-saving lamps are almost complete lamps. They consist of a fluorescent light source made of frosted glass, a built-in ballast and an E40 lamp holder. To make the most of the light, you need to purchase a lampshade with accessories and a cable. Usually, a small Hobby lampshade is enough.

In the growshop's offer, you can choose between two brands: Elektrox and Agrolite. The individual types can be distinguished into growth, flowering and combined energy-saving lamps based on the color spectrum and color temperature.
